Quinte West (Trenton, Sidney, Murray)
Trenton is at the heart of the amalgamated city of
Quinte West,
which includes the townships of Sidney and Murray, and the Village
of Frankford. Located along the beautiful Bay of Quinte, Quinte West
is the southern gateway to the well-known Trent-Severn Waterway and
it is the ideal spot for the angler, boater or vacationer who just
wants to get away from it all.
Head to the marina area and watch boats embark on their journey up
the
Trent-Severn Waterway.
You can get a great seat at the
Fraser Park Marina, which is also one of the stops along
Trenton's stretch of the
Waterfront Trail, a beautiful walking/cycling trail that joins
Trenton with Hamilton along Lake Ontario.
If fishing is your idea of relaxing, then drop a line
in one of the hottest fishing spots in Ontario. Each May Trenton

Belleville
Belleville,
on the Bay of Quinte, was settled by United Empire Loyalists in 1784
and became a city in 1878. Known as the "friendly city", Belleville
offers big city amenities along with small town friendliness, and a
pleasing mixture of the historic and modern.
Belleville
is home to an excellent yacht harbour, which is a picturesque
stopping point for Great Lakes sailors and a favourite launch for
sportsfishing enthusiasts after Walleye, Pike and Bass. In the
winter, Belleville becomes a major
ice fishing
centre.
Each July
thousands of visitors enjoy the
Waterfront &
Ethnic Festival, while beautiful music chimes year round from
the City Hall clock tower, overlooking the new civic square and
Farmers Market. Residents and visitors alike enjoy walking, biking
and rollerblading on the Bayshore Trail and
new
Riverfront Trail. |
